Nettle leaf, also known as stinging nettle, is a flowering perennial woodland herb native to North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Member of the Urticaceae family, this plant is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, astringent (mild), diuretic, & nutritive. After learning about this plant I can honestly say I’m impressed ! Nettles is also packed with nutrients including, but not limited to, vitamin B, vitamin C, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, and Zinc. Through my personal experience with the herb I’ve found drinking a cup of nettle leaf tea in the morning helps boost my energy and overall mood for the day. Don't waste this plant ! Leaves, roots and seeds can all be used. This cool, dry tasting herb is great for anemia, and is known to be an expectorant, a pain reliever, and tonic. Nettle herb is nutrient dense and eating it regularly can supply you with the needed vitamins and minerals that are most likely missing from your diet.
